Match against Grenoble CC cancelled – 22/07/2007
The match against Grenoble CC at Lyon was cancelled.   While the entire club was eagerly waiting for the match, Grenoble CC called us 2 hours before the match & cancelled their trip due to some transport problems. We are hoping to play against them in the coming days. Disappointed our guys played a 20Twenty match within us. Team A: 90/8 (all-out) in 14.4 overs John 50  A 60 run last wicket partnership b/w John & Robert. Team B: 91/2 in 13.3 overs Martin 31*, Mani 20, Ashu 15 A send off party was given to Ashutosh SINHA who leaves for India after successfully finishing his studies in INSA - Lyon.

	Sixty - Niners beat Montbard CC - 07/07/07
	We played a friendly match against Montbard CC at Montbard, the 7th of July. Put into field, our bowlers did well to keep Montbard at 4 an over for the first 10 overs but they failed to stop Nitin who single handedly took Montbard to 146 in 25 overs scoring 96. Our bowling left us down at the end as most of us sprayed trying for pace & gave the Montbardiens easy 28 extras. Montbard CC 146/8 in 25 overs Nitin 96, extras 28 Our openers gave us a good start & a run a ball target seemed gettable until Krishna Leister came up with his teasing unusual spin bowling. He took 3 wickets & a tensed battle started. At the end when 19 needed from 12 balls, Geoffrey scored 3 sixers to secure Six Neuf CC a good win. Six Neuf CC 148/4 in 24.2 overs John 32, Martin 20, Geoffrey 55*

Tournament Uriage les bains 17/06/2007:
Our club participated for the first time in the Uriage les bains’s 4th year tournament which was held on the 17th June 2007. We were only able to participate with 6 players. The organisers filled our team with some locals. The matches were played in a well prepared turf wicket. The tournament was held under a very friendly manner & some mild music gave the perfect ambiance. The presence of "The Guru" Allan BARROW & the Barry juniors cheered the local crowd. The teams: Uriage les bains CC (seniors), Uriage les bains CC (juniors), Grenoble CC & Six Neuf CC – Lyon 1st match: 69CC-Lyon: 134 / 6 in 20 overs (Murali 47) won Uriage les bains CC (Seniors) 104 / 10 2nd match: Grenoble CC won Uriage les bains (juniors) Finals: Grenoble CC won 69CC-Lyon Men of the tournament (by 69CC-Lyon) - Julien SELVA & Caryl CONSTERDINE for their lively French commentaries which gave the 150+ local crowd a clear idea about cricket. Cricket Initiation: The highlight of the day was this section. David BORDES, the Technical Director of France cricket, gave cricket lessons to the kids. Many kids listened eagerly. It was delightful to watch small girls timing the ball perfectly.

Our first indoor tournament was held at Gymnase Gabriel Rosset  - Lyon 7éme (3 June 2007) under the presence of Mr. Flaconnèche, maire du 7e arrondissement, Mr.Touraine, 1er adjoint au Maire de Lyon et Mr. De Fillipis (adjoint aux sports de Lyon 7ème ) & Mr. Bordes (sélectionneur de l’équipe de France et Directeur Technique de France Cricket) . Three future “France Cricket” member clubs (42 players + 14 substitutes) from Rhone-Alpes & Bourgogne participated in the tournament. Six Neuf CC-D won the tournament

Chers amateurs de cricket, nous avons créé un club de cricket à Lyon. Tous les participants sont les bienvenus, quelque soient leurs niveaux, pour nous donner un coup de main. Le club est aussi à la recherche de sponsors, votre aide est la bienvenue. Toute personne volontaire pour nous donner un coup de main Vous êtes plein d’idées, d’énergie et vous voulez faire de notre projet un succès ? Nous avons besoin de vous !

69CC vs Lyon CC - Le derby Lyonnais
We accepted to play a match against a non affiliated club (of course after receiving a nod from the FC) to motivate them & to promote cricket in Lyon. Bilal Hasan our opponent team captain brought with him few journalists who stayed till the end of the match. A local television channel (TLM) filmed the match & many players were interviewed. A documentary about cricket will be telecasted in TLM the 15th June at 7pm. During the match we witnessed some raw talent from both sides. Though our club won that match, cricket was the real winner that day. A warm price distribution ceremony was held at the end & Ashutosh SINHA was voted unanimously the man of the match by all the players for his brave 48 not out (with a bleeding finger). CERN CC vs 69CC-Lyon at CERN : 29/04/07

As we don’t own a home ground (& cricket mats) we decided to play a match against a well established club to horn the skills of our players. CERN CC Geneva kindly accepted to host us. Determined to give a good show our team A went into field first (after losing the toss) & showed some promising bowling & fielding efforts.       Our fielders concentrated on the basic skills like forming long barriers in the boundaries, pick & throws etc.., (though no one dared to do a sliding) .There were no miss fields, no drop catches & we were able to remove all their wickets for 104 (25 over match).      While chasing, our batsmen showed a great deal of maturity as they put on a 60 run partnership for the opening stand. The importance of scoring singles & building partnerships was what we learnt from our batsmen. We won the match. We returned home with smiles after displaying a great team effort.
